Morgantown, West Virginia – The Phoenix Suns advanced to the 2021 NBA Finals by defeating the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 6 of the western conference finals, 130-103.
Jevon Carter played for the first time in the series, finishing with 2 points on 1-1 shooting in the final two minutes of the game.
The Suns now await the winner of the Atlanta Hawks versus Milwaukee Bucks eastern conference finals winner. That series is currently tied 2-2. The Suns will be a heavy favorite to win in the Finals whether they meet the Hawks or the Bucks in the championship.
This is the first time that the Phoenix Suns have won the western conference finals and will compete in the NBA Finals since 1993.
Although Jevon Carter has played limited minutes during the playoffs, he was a key reserve off the bench for the Suns throughout the regular season and now has the opportunity to win an NBA Championship ring in only his third professional season!
Congratulations to the Phoenix Suns and to Jevon Carter on winning the western conference finals and advancing to the 2021 NBA Finals!
1.8 million West Virginia Mountaineers will be cheering on the Suns in the championship!
