Morgantown, West Virginia – Make no mistake about it, Jevon Carter is struggling offensively this season with the Phoenix Suns.
The Suns, currently 17-9 and 4th place in the Western Conference, have exceeded expectations, but Jevon Carter – fresh off a new 3 year, $11.5 million contract – has fallen off dramatically on the offensive side of the ball.
In the past ten games, Carter has just 3 points on 1-8 from the field. For the season, Carter is averaging 2.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists on 36.3 from the field and 37% from three point range.
While Carter is best known for his defensive prowess, it’s also important that he is able to contribute offensively as well. While many players would pout and make excuses, Carter has become the Suns’ most enthusiastic cheerleader on the bench during games and continues to use his treadmill mentality to never, ever give up.
Following games, Carter is the last player to leave the court. On the Suns’ social media accounts, they posted video of Carter shooting postgame buckets with the caption, “Going the extra mile to be great.”
Jevon Carter has been overlooked and underappreciated his entire career, and although he is down right now, there’s no question that he’ll get right back up. Carter is the bulldog, the epitome of what hard work and dedication to your craft can produce.
You can count him out if you wish, but Jevon Carter will be back.
#TreadmillMentality: Going the extra mile to be great.
