Jevon Carter was known for his tenacious defense at West Virginia University and he’s also considered one of the best defensive guards in the NBA now.
In Monday’s 111-92 loss to the Utah Jazz, Carter and teammate Deandre Ayton got into a brief disagreement. Carter was guarding Jazz rookie guard Elijah Hughes. Hughes drove to the basket past Carter and Carter was expecting weakside help from Suns center Deandre Ayton.
Ayton appeared to give a very half-hearted attempt at help and Jevon Carter, who prides himself on outstanding defense, was not happy with his teammate’s effort. Carter explained that he was expecting help defense and Ayton didn’t agree.
