Phoenix, Arizona – Jevon Carter is struggling offensively through the first two games of the Phoenix Suns regular season.
Carter, who only played 7 minutes in the Suns’ 106-103 loss to the Sacramento Kings, finished the game shooting 1-6 from the field and 0-5 from three point range.
In the Suns’ season opening win against the Dallas Mavericks, Carter was held scoreless on 0-3 from the field and 0-3 from three point range.
Through two games, Carter is shooting 1-9 from the field (11.2%) and 0-8 (0%) from three point range, and is averaging 1.0 point, 1.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.5 steals per game.
With that said, Jevon Carter is getting wide-open looks and those shots will certainly start the fall in the upcoming games. With a guaranteed contract secured, Carter should feel more confidence and freedom to play his game offensively now.
In addition, Carter’s defense continues to be a bright spot off the bench for the Suns.
I don’t know if I want to blame the scouts or the players but it was clear nobody understood that Jevon Carter does not slack on defense. Box score says zero steals but he forced a grip of turnovers by just being him. https://t.co/6pRsvxuLCt
