MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — West Virginia’s interim head coach Josh Eilert was formally announced today.
Wren Baker said the following about Eilert: ““It was clear that he had a role in organizing the program. The way he operated with honesty, integrity and trust.”
Eilert, 42, who has served on the Mountaineers’ staff for the past 16 years, will make $1.5 million during his 10 month contract as the interim head coach this season.
On being named “interim” head coach, Eilert said, “That doesn’t concern me. We are going to try to win, that’s our mission. This won’t be handed to me. I’ve got to earn it.”
