Kenny Pickett Makes Backyard Brawl Prediction

Morgantown, West Virginia – The Backyard Brawl between the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Pitt Panthers is now only 3 days away and predictions for the game are starting to pour in.

Following yesterday’s Pittsburgh Steelers’ 19-9 win over the Detroit Lions in the preseason finale, Pittsburgh rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett was asked about the upcoming Backyard Brawl.

Pickett, who has been impressive in the preseason and who finished the game 10-14 for 90 yards, will likely start the regular season as Mitchell Trubisky’s backup.

Pickett, a Pitt graduate who led the Panthers to an 11-3 record and an ACC Championship last season, believes the Panthers will come out on top over the Mountaineers on Thursday night.

“I will be here for the game and I can’t wait. It’s going to be awesome game! I really wish I had a chance to play in this game during college,” Pickett said. “But I’m excited for these guys to go out there and get after them. So I’ll definitely be there.”

When pressed to give a score prediction, Pickett said, “Shoutout to coach…I’ll go 31-10 Pitt.”
