Kerry Martin Leaves West Virginia Football

Morgantown, West Virginia – According to multiple sources, redshirt sophomore Kerry Martin has left the West Virginia football program and will enter the transfer portal.

Martin appeared to have an incredibly bright future ahead for the West Virginia Mountaineers.  As a true freshman, the West Virginia native was a Pro Football Focus All-Freshman All-American, finishing his first season in Morgantown as the team’s sixth leading tackler.

As a sophomore, everything changed.  After being at the center of the controversy surrounding the investigation and subsequent firing of former defensive coordinator Vic Koenning, Martin opted out of the season for medical reasons.

After a year off, Martin was expected to be back and better than ever this season.  Martin, however, hasn’t seen the playing time that was expected and has only recorded 3 tackles in limited snaps.
