Kickoff Time and Network Set For WVU’s First 3 Games

Morgantown, WV – Moments ago, the Big 12 Conference revealed kickoff times and networks for the first three weeks of the season. After a long wait, Mountaineer fans will finally know when their team will take the field when they kick the season off against the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Here are the kickoff times and networks for WVU’s first three games:

Aug. 31st: Penn State – Noon on Fox

Sept. 7th: Albany – 6 p.m. on ESPN+

Sept. 14th: at Pitt – 3:30 on ESPN or ESPN2

The 2024 season opener will mark the first time since 1992 that Penn State has visited Morgantown. The Nittany Lions defeated the Mountaineers in 2023, 38-15, in front of a nationally televised NBC audience.

As has become the trend, WVU’s battle with their FCS foe will broadcast on ESPN+ as a part of Big 12 Now. The Mountaineers and the Great Danes of Albany have no previous meetings.

The Backyard Brawl will return to Pittsburgh on September 14th. The Mountaineers will look to avenge a 38-31 loss to the Panthers in 2022.

The Mountaineers aim to build momentum coming off of the best season of the Neal Brown era. Duke’s Mayo Bowl MVP Garrett Greene will lead WVU in what will be his final season in the Gold and Blue in hopes of a Big 12 Championship appearance.
