WVU and Penn State will kickoff the 2023 season together in a matchup decades in the making. It will be the first time the Mountaineers and Nittany Lions have met on the football field since 1992 – a game that Penn State won 40-26.

Though we are still several months out from kickoff, it appears that a Penn State player has leaked classified information.

Abdul Carter, a star linebacker from Penn State, shared a picture of a countdown from within the team’s locker room. There is one piece of information that Carter seems to have overlooked, the kickoff time.

According to the picture, West Virginia and Penn State will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. on September 2nd. This means a night game at Beaver Stadium to begin the year for the Mountaineers – yikes.

If this is true, and it probably is, Neal Brown has his work cut out for him right out of the gates. Happy Valley is a tough place to play, and especially at night. A blowout loss to begin the season will not help Brown, whose seat is already scorching hot.
