Morgantown, West Virginia – Former West Virginia women’s point guard Kysre Gondrezick made her professional basketball debut last night for the Indiana Fever in the WNBA.
Gondrezick, who was picked 4th overall by the Fever in the 2021 WNBA Draft, finished her first career professional game with 5 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist in 12 minutes off the bench.
The Fever lost to the New York Liberty 90-87 on a last-second three point shot by Sabrina Ionescu.
Gondrezick, who averaged 19.5 points and 4.5 assists per game last season for the Mountaineers, was a First Team All Big 12 selection as she led the team to a 22-7 overall record and a #3 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Her former head coach at West Virginia, Mike Carey, was in attendance in New York last night to see Gondrezick’s debut.
