The Mountaineers struggled early, but with a strong second half effort, they were able to overcome the winless Kansas Jayhawks, 38-17.

After falling behind 10-0 early, West Virginia used two touchdown passes by Jarret Doege to take a 17-10 halftime lead.

In the second half, it was all Leddie Brown. He would finish the day with 195 rushing yards on 18 carries. He also added two touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving), one of which was an 87-yard touchdown scamper.

Quarterback Jarret Doege was solid today finishing 26-44 for 318 yards with three touchdown passes to only one interception.

The Mountaineer defense was once again up to the task. They held the Jayhawks to only 157 total yards, including 95 passing and 62 rushing.

WVU is now 3-1, and 2-1 in Big 12 play. They travel to Lubbock, Texas next week to take on the Red Raiders of Texas Tech. The game will be televised on ESPN2 at 5:30 p.m.
