
Morgantown, West Virginia – Legendary football head coach Bob Bowden has been diagnosed with a terminal medical condition.
Bowden, 91, was the head coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers from 1970-1975 and then went on to coach the Florida State Seminoles from 1976-2009, winning two national championship and retiring as one of the greatest coaches in college football history.
Bowden said the following of his diagnosis today: “I’ve always tried to serve God’s purpose for my life, on and off the field, and I am prepared for what is to come,” Bowden’s statement says. “My wife Ann and our family have been life’s greatest blessing. I am at peace.”
