Morgantown, West Virginia – The WVU Campus Police Department received word recently that there was a wild, loose bear at Milan Puskar Stadium, home to the West Virginia Mountaineers.
The police report revealed that officers approached the bear inside the stadium gates and the bear escaped before being captured.
According to a release, “The WVDNR has received more than 1,600 bear complaints in 2020 and bears have been spotted looking for food in rural backyards, suburban neighborhoods, and busy cities with many people.”
The bear, which was estimated to be approximately 1 year old, smelled food around the stadium following last weekend’s West Virginia football game.
