Morgantown, West Virginia – Darel Middleton, a defensive lineman who transferred from Tennessee over the summer, will not play on Saturday when the West Virginia Mountaineers open their season at Maryland.
Middleton, a 6’7 305 pound lineman, entered the transfer portal after two seasons with the Volunteers.
Neal Brown said the following of Middleton’s availability: “We do have one player that is out for this game and that’s Darel Middleton. He’ll be out for this game.”
Brown did not elaborate on why Middleton will be out.
Middleton started in 6 games and played in nine games with Tennessee last season, finishing with 15 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and one pass breakup, and is expected to see major playing minutes for the Mountaineers this season.
