Kotelnicki, who was among the first reported to be in consideration for the job, was rumored to be one of the two finalists for the job. The other, Jacksonville State’s Rich Rodriguez, is now considered the front runner to land the job.
Kotelnicki has spent time with Buffalo, Kansas, and Penn State, and has recently become a hot commodity in the coaching carousel. He has helped turn around Kansas, as well as a Penn State offense that struggled in 2023.
