Morgantown, West Virginia – Jaquan Yulee, a former linebacker for Marshall University, died tragically in a car accident yesterday.
Yulee, a former four star recruit, was a beloved player at Marshall. He played in every game as a freshman and sophomore at linebacker for the Herd, and then made his first start during his junior season. During that start against VMI, he suffered a gruesome spine injury that ended his season in 2019 and nearly ended his career.
A beautiful sight at today’s practice: Jaquan Yulee walked out of the Shewey Building and joined his teammates (briefly) at practice. Every player and coach hugged and greeted Yulee. #HerdFamily | @JaquanYulee2 pic.twitter.com/u7gDU4YJev

However, Yulee was just recently cleared by doctors after two years and was attempting to make a comeback to football before his untimely death yesterday. Yulee posted the following message on social media just a day ago, announcing that he would be transferring to Virginia State University, Central State University or Virginia Union University to continue his football career.
