Miles McBride Competes in Quarterback Competition

Morgantown, West Virginia – At halftime of today’s Gold-Blue Spring game, Jarret Doege and Garrett Greene were scheduled to compete against each other in a quarterback competition.

However, West Virginia head coach Neal Brown announced that there would be a surprise challenger in the competition, and then Miles “Deuce” McBride walked out on the field!

The competition was for the quarterbacks to throw footballs into nets placed at various spots on the field.  Doege finished with 3 points, Greene had one point and McBride also had one point, hitting his final throw of the day.

Following the event, McBride asked how he felt being on a football field again and he responded, “Rusty.”

McBride was standout football player in high school, passing for 956 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior before an injury ended his football career.
