Morgantown, West Virginia – Two former West Virginia Mountaineers point guards matched up in an NBA G League game this evening.
Miles “Deuce” McBride, the starting point guard for the Westchester Knicks, went up against Juwan Staten, who was a reserve for the Maine Celtics.
McBride got the best of Staten in this game, finishing with 16 points and 16 assists in the Knicks’ 126-99 win over the Celtics.
However, McBride had his worst shooting game as a professional, shooting 5-20 (25%) from the field and 3-7 from three point range. Juwan Staten, who was recently called up to play in the G League, played 5 minutes and was held scoreless on 0-2 shooting.
Prior to tonight’s game, McBride was averaging 29.2 points, 8.2 assists, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game on 50.9% from the field and 44.4% from three point range in 5 previous games with the Westchester Knicks.
