Morgantown, West Virginia – The idea of Miles “Deuce” McBride leaving West Virginia University and remaining in the 2021 NBA Draft seems more and more likely the closer we get to the NBA Draft Combine, which takes place June 21-27th in Chicago.
McBride, who averaged 15.8 points, 4.9 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game last season for the Mountaineers, is considered a late first round or early second round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, but he has consistently been landing in the 1st round in most mock drafts by league experts.
According to Jonathan Wasserman, the lead NBA scout/draft analyst for Bleacher Report, McBride could team up with West Virginia legend Jevon Carter in Phoenix.
In Wasserman’s final lottery simulation mock draft, he projects Miles “Deuce” McBride to be picked #29 overall in the 1st round by the Phoenix Suns!

Although the Suns have Chris Paul, one of the best point guards in the league, he is 36 years old and the Suns could look to the future to replace him with an outstanding young point guard like McBride.
If this happens and Miles McBride ends up playing on the same team as Jevon Carter, the Phoenix Suns will instantly become every West Virginian’s favorite professional team!
