Most Famous Person to Attend West Virginia University

Morgantown, West Virginia – Recently, Big Game Boomer, an Oklahoma-based website, released an article/graphic of “The Most Famous Person to Attend Each FBS School.”

While there are many notable Mountaineer alumni, including former Cisco CEO John T. Chambers, NBA legend turned executive Jerry West, actor/comedian Don Knotts, future Hall of Fame basketball coach Bob Huggins, television salesperson Billy Mays and United States Senator Joe Manchin, Big Game Boomer chose former West Virginia punter turned sports media icon Pat McAfee as the university’s most famous alum.

McAfee played for the Mountaineers from 2005-2009 and then went on to play in the NFL for the Indianapolis Colts from 2009-2016.  While with the Colts, he was a two-time Pro Bowl player and was named the “Punter of the Decade” by Pro Football Focus.

Since then, he has become a sports analyst and has his own radio show called “The Pat McAfee Show.”
