Mountaineer Player Gets Haircut to Honor WVU Legend

Morgantown, West Virginia – Senior punter Tyler Sumpter, who will play in his final game for the West Virginia Mountaineers tonight in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl, decided to get his hair cut to honor former West Virginia fullback Owen Schmitt.

“In honor of my last game, I’ve decided to honor him, ‘the runaway beer truck’, Sumpter said. “And maybe I’ll get to run the ball tonight. Probably not, Coach (Neal) Brown will never trust my athleticism but we’ll see.”

Sumpter concluded his message by saying, “Owen Schmitt is a beast, I love West Virginia and I’m proud to be a part of this program. Let’s Go Mountaineers!”
