Morgantown, West Virginia – Neal Brown has done it again!  West Virginia’s 2022 recruiting class, which is already ranked as one of the Top 25 in the nation, just got better!

Christion Stokes, a talented athlete out of Harper Woods, Michigan (just outside of Detriot), just announced on his personal social media accounts that he has committed to play for the West Virginia Mountaineers!

Stokes played several positions in high school, but is projected as a defensive back or safety at West Virginia.

Although a three star prospect by 247 and Rivals, Stokes believes that he’ll be better and more productive in college than any five star player in the class.

“Still slept on and still disrespected but I can guarantee I’m still going to make it further than any five star, trust and believe.”

Stokes had offers from Syracuse, Penn State, Maryland, Kansas, Cincinnati, among others, but ultimately narrowed his choices down to Iowa, Michigan State and West Virginia.

Stokes is considered one of the “silent commits” who unofficially committed to West Virginia following his visit to Morgantown early last month.  Stokes made official visits to Michigan State and Iowa in the weeks after visiting Morgantown and wanted to be certain of his choice before making the commitment to West Virginia official.

In addition, four star prospect and fellow Detriot-area star Jaden Mangham is considered another “silent commit” to WVU and is very close friends with Stokes.  Mangham visited Morgantown on June 4th with Stokes and it’s thought that both decided during that visit that they would eventually commit to West Virginia.  Now that Stokes is officially committed, Mangham is likely to follow very soon.

Mangham is one of the top players in the state of Michigan for the 2022 class and is capable of playing defensive back, safety or wide receiver when he inevitably joins West Virginia.

Neal Brown and his staff continue to hit home runs and the 2022 class is now among the best in the nation with several more major recruits expected to commit in the coming weeks.  Let’s Go Mountaineers!
