Mountaineers Cruise Past Cyclones

The 13th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers, 18-4 overall and 6-3 in Big 12 Conference play, cruised past the Iowa State Cyclones, 9-13, 2-7, easily winning the game by a score of 76-61.

The Mountaineers controlled the game from the very beginning, shooting an impressive 51.8% from the field and dominating on the glass by winning the rebounding battle 46-28.

West Virginia was led by freshman forward Oscar Tshiebwe, who had 16 points and 10 rebounds.  Derek Culver had 12 points and 3 rebounds and Emmitt Matthews, Jr. had his best game in a while, adding 12 points and 4 rebounds.

Iowa State got a solid game from sophomore guard Rasir Bolton, who had 18 points on 6-15 from the field and 3-6 from three point range for the Cyclones.

The Mountaineers will next travel to Norman, Oklahoma to play the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday, February 8 at 2:00PM.  The game will be televised on ESPNU.
