Mountaineers Drop in Latest Associated Press Poll

The West Virginia Mountaineers, 14-3 overall and 3-2 in Big 12 Conference play, were ranked #12 in last week’s Associated Press Poll before dominating TCU 81-49 at home and then dropping a disappointing game at Kansas State 68-84.

Moments ago, the new AP Poll was released and the Mountaineers have dropped to #14.

West Virginia is still #2 in the RPI, has the 2nd ranked Strength of Schedule and is ranked 9th in the NET Rankings, which is what the selection committee uses to determine seeding for the NCAA Tournament in March.

The Mountaineers are back in action tonight at home in the WVU Coliseum against the Texas Longhorns at 7:00PM.  For those unable to attend the game, it will be televised live on ESPNU.
