Mountaineers hang on for win against Iowa State

West Virginia was up 13 points at half (44-31) against Iowa State, but the Cyclones stormed back and took the lead in the 2nd half before the Mountaineers responded and pulled away late to win 77-71.

The Mountaineers were led by Derek Culver, who had 17 points and 9 rebounds.  Oscar Tshiebwe had 11 points and 9 rebounds, while Miles McBride finished with 17 points and Taz Sherman added 12 points off the bench.

Rasir Bolton led Iowa State with 21 points and Prentiss Nixon finished with 19 points on 5-6 from three point range.

West Virginia will close out the regular season on Saturday against the #4 ranked Baylor Bears at home inside the WVU Coliseum. Game time is 1:00PM and will be shown on ESPN Plus.
