Mountaineers Land Arizona Transfer

Morgantown, West Virginia – Moments ago, Tony Fields II, a former inside linebacker for the Arizona Wildcats, committed to the West Virginia Mountaineers!

Although it’s unclear why he decided to leave Arizona, the Las Vegas native was a three year starter and had 287 tackles (17 for loss), 8.5 sacks and two interceptions during his time there.

Recently, Fields narrowed his choices down to West Virginia, Minnesota and Texas.  Fields took a virtual visit to Texas and loved what he saw, but ultimately West Virginia gave him the best opportunity to be a huge part of the defense and see substantial minutes as a starter.  In addition, West Virginia assistant coach Jahmile Addae formed a relationship with Fields during his time as the Safeties coach at Arizona.

Welcome Home, Tony Fields II!
