Mountaineers Offer the Nation’s #1 JUCO Recruit

Morgantown, West Virginia – The West Virginia Mountaineers are loaded with interior talent – Oscar Tshiebwe, Derek Culver, Gabe Osabuohien, Isaiah Cottrell and Seny Ndiaye to name a few – but that hasn’t stopped Bob Huggins from searching for the nation’s best big men.

The #1 ranked JUCO player in the 2021 class, Jamarion Sharp, received a scholarship offer from West Virginia University yesterday.  Sharp, who earned all conference honors last season at Logan College in Carterville, Illinois, averaged 5.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 64% from the field.

Sharp, who stands 7’2 and weighs 220 pounds, would be a perfect project player for Huggins.  Oscar Tshiebwe will likely leave following this season and Sharp would be an ideal replacement for him after a year in the gym under the Mountaineers’ training staff.

However, it won’t be easy to bring Sharp to Morgantown.  He already holds offers from Arizona, Cincinnati, Oregon and Louisville.  Jamarion Sharp has an outstanding future in front of him and is definitely a player for Mountaineer fans to keep their eye on.
