Morgantown, West Virginia – With a 1-2 record to start this season and an 18-20 record since taking over as the head coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers, Neal Brown has faced harsh criticism lately and it has been rumored that he is officially on the hot seat.
In fact, Brown is currently the odds on favorite to be the next college football head coach to be fired, according to SportsBettingAG.
Brown is a 4-1 favorite to be axed, just slightly ahead of Stanford’s David Shaw (5-1), Georgia Tech’s Jeff Collins (6-1) and South Florida’s Jeff Scott (6-1).
West Virginia is back in action this Thursday at rival Virginia Tech. If the Mountaineers lose, it’s very possible that he could be dismissed. If West Virginia wins, it would go a long way in Brown getting off the hot seat.
