Morgantown, West Virginia – It’s now officially official! As reported yesterday exclusively by The Voice of Morgantown, redshirt junior transfer quarterback JT Daniels will be the starting quarterback for the West Virginia Mountaineers when they open their season this Thursday, September 1st against the Pitt Panthers.
“JT Daniels has earned the starting position,” Neal Brown said moments ago in a press conference. “JT gives us a lot of experience and he’s picked up our offense quickly. He’s matured and he has the personality to lead this team. He’s earned the job.”
Although he named the starter, Brown is not willing to announce the backup quarterback yet. Garrett Greene, Will “Goose” Crowder and Nicco Marchiol will continue the competition into the season. “The backup competition is still ongoing,” Brown said during today’s press conference.
