Morgantown, West Virginia – With the hiring of Blaine Stewart as the new tight ends coach for the West Virginia Mountaineers, head coach Neal Brown was left with one remaining opening on his coaching staff, the quarterbacks coach.
His best buddy, Sean Reagan, served as the tight ends coach last season and was previously the quarterbacks coach for the Mountaineers from 2019-2021. During that time, he coached and worked to develop Austin Kendall and Jarret Doege, perhaps the two most disappointing quarterbacks in the history of the football program.
So who did Neal Brown choose as his new quarterbacks coach? Sean Reagan, of course! He had so much success with Kendall and Doege that he couldn’t possibly screw up the careers of Garrett Greene and Nicco Marchiol, right? Right?
Brown continues to make bizarre choices for his coaching staff. None of them make any sense to anyone other than Brown himself, but this particular move might just be his most baffling yet.
Could Neal Brown make any worse decisions? Sean Reagan is moving from tight ends coach back to the quarterbacks coach. This is the same guy who coached and worked to develop Austin Kendall and Jarret Doege. It’s almost like he’s failing on purpose at this point. #WVU
