MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Neal Brown may not have been successful as the head coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers, but he certainly lived like a King while living in Morgantown. Brown, 45, was the head coach of the Mountaineers from 2019-2024 and finished 37-35 overall and 25-28 before finally being fired at the end of last season.
Brown, who recently took a job as an offensive consultant for the Texas Longhorns, just put his home in Morgantown up on the market. According to Zillow, the home was officially listed for sale 2 days ago, and has been listed for $3.695 million. The home, which sits on 2.78 acres and was built in 2012, is located at 3906 Westlake Drive in Morgantown, West Virginia.

According to the listing: “Experience unmatched luxury in this stunning 11,000+ square foot lakefront estate nestled within an exquisite, gated community. Set on 2.78+/- acres with a private dock and panoramic water views, this 6-bedroom, 6.5-bath beautiful creation features a striking custom limestone exterior and soaring 20-foot ceilings. A grand iron circular staircase anchors the dramatic entry, while expansive living and entertaining spaces flow seamlessly throughout. The 3177 square foot entertainment area includes a full wet bar, perfect for hosting on a grand scale. Exit out from the main living space into a private outdoor oasis with a saltwater pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen and multiple terraces. A 4-car garage completes this exceptional lakefront retreat.”
After being fired, Neal Brown spoke with Hoppy Kercheval on “MetroNews Talkline” and said that he would like to be a head coach again. “I want to coach, I think there are a lot of positives from a personal perspective and professionally,” Brown said. “And there are some really good jobs open. There are jobs that are resourced well in leagues that you can go win. My anticipation is that I will (be a head coach) but time will tell.”
“I’ve got a ton of energy,” Brown said. “I think the natural assumption sometimes once somebody is let go, is ‘they must be beat up.’ I’m not.”
Despite Brown’s lack of success at WVU, he is still highly respected in the coaching circles and West Virginia’s director of athletics Wren Baker gave him a rave review for his time in Morgantown: “Coach Brown is a great person, and he has served as a tremendous ambassador for West Virginia University,” Baker said in a statement when the program let Brown go. “He led our storied program with class and integrity and always put in the hard work necessary to allow for success.”
Brown was mentioned as a serious candidate at multiple open positions during the offseason, but he either turned them down or was not hired.
