Since the position came open a few weeks ago, Neal Brown’s name has been one mentioned for the South Carolina head coaching job. Despite Shane Beamer emerging as the favorite to land the job, Brown’s presence is still felt in the search. Now, there has even been an ESPN source to confirm it.

According to Travis Hancock of WFNZ in Charlotte, ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg has confirmed that Brown’s name is still be brought up a lot in the conversation.

Though he is highly unlikely to leave Morgantown for what would be at best a lateral move, the coaching carousel will now be a time of year that Mountaineer Nation has to sweat through.

If his name is being brought up despite a 10-10 record with WVU, he will certainly be on everyone’s radar moving forward.
