According to multiple reports, University of Alabama head coach Nick Saban has signed a contract extension to remain with the team through the 2028 season. The base salary is reported to be worth upwards of over $8 million dollars, with more benefits throughout the end of each season.

How does this relate to WVU Football you may ask? The Crimson Tide is scheduled to visit Morgantown in 2026 with a second game in Tuscaloosa in 2027. With his new contract, Nick Saban will now be with the team for both of those matchups, pending some unforeseen event that would prevent him from coaching.

West Virginia and Alabama last met in the 2014 season opener. The Crimson Tide took the contest, albeit a reasonably tight one, 33-23.
