Not So Happy Valley

Schools across the nation are beginning to announce a significant reduction of fan attendance for home games in 2020 — to the extent of even no fans.

Penn State sent an email to season ticket holders yesterday explaining the current state of Beaver Stadium in the fall.

According to multiple sources, Penn State has announced that there are no current plans to have any fans in the stands for home games.

In the email from the athletic department, the current regulation of only 250 spectators allowed at outside events in the state of Pennsylvania was referenced. With this limitation, having fans at Happy Valley is simply impossible for the time being.

However, the door was left open for fans to attend at some point when the athletic department stated they are working to “refine plans” when things improve.

West Virginia has yet to announce any plans for fan attendance in 2020 — but we should expect a decision in the very near future.
