Morgantown, West Virginia – Former Spring Valley High School (Huntington, West Virginia) player Doug Nester is officially in the transfer portal, according to reports.
Nester, who has played for Virginia Tech for the past two seasons, chose the Hokies over offers from multiple big-time programs.
Grant Taylor, a writer for The Herald-Dispatch, who covers Marshall athletics and high school sports in West Virginia, confirmed that Nester has entered the transfer portal and said the following: “I would be shocked if he doesn’t go to WVU where his best friend Graeson Malashevich plays and former Spring Valley teammate Wyatt Milum signs tomorrow.”
Malashevich is a redshirt freshman wide receiver and Milum is an offensive tackle who will sign with the Mountaineers tomorrow. Adding Nester to an outstanding recruiting class would be huge for Neal Brown and the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Confirmed: Former Spring Valley offensive lineman Doug Nester is in the NCAA transfer portal.
Nester was an Ohio State commit before flipping to VT late.
Shocked if he doesn’t go to WVU where best friend Graeson Malashevich plays & former SV teammate Wyatt Milum signs tomorrow.
