MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — Moments ago, the West Virginia Mountaineers landed a commitment from Georgia Southern defensive back Antony Wilson!
Wilson, all-Sun Belt selection and three-year starter, had 101 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and an interception last season. He was third in the entire nation last season with 101 tackles as a defensive back. In addition, he had a PFF coverage grade of 72.9 last year.
Wilson, 5’10, 200 pounds, is from Columbia, South Carolina and has been in contact with multiple interested programs since entering the transfer portal. UCF, Louisville, Tennessee, Purdue, Minnesota, Pitt, Cincinnati, Duke, SMU, Tulane and West Virginia, among others.
The Mountaineers are very thin in the defensive secondary and adding a player of Wilson’s caliber with his level of experience is huge for the future of the program. Wilson has two years of eligibility remaining and expect to see him starting for the Mountaineers very soon!
