Pennsylvania Linebacker Fakes Out WVU in Commitment

The recruiting trail is no stranger to some trickery. Some prospects find it necessary to call an audible last minute when committing to a school – sometimes even in their commitment announcement.

Yesterday, WVU fell victim to one of these interesting and unusual tactics via a linebacker from Pennsylvania.

Racari El, a linebacker at Gateway High School in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, faked out the Mountaineers in his commitment to the University of California of Pennsylvania. After showing the WVU logo in his commitment video, it quickly faded to show his commitment to the Vulcans.

Before you have anything negative to say to this young man, just remember he is that – a young man. Sure it was puzzling, but if he felt it was necessary, then let it be and wish him luck.

The California (PA) Vulcans compete at the Division-II level.
