Morgantown, West Virginia – It’s exactly 100 days until the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Pitt Panthers play in the Backyard Brawl on September 1st.
Today, Pitt posted a graphic on social media showing that there are 100 days until kickoff. However, something that may not have been noticed by casual observers was the subtle jab that Pitt took at West Virginia.
The graphic shows two Pitt helmets with the numbers 13 and 9 next to each other, which clearly references one of the worst scores in West Virginia football history.
13-9.
That score of course was when Pitt shockingly upset the #2 ranked Mountaineers and knocked them out of the 2007 national championship game.
Although the game is 100 days away, the rivalry is already heating up!
