
Morgantown, West Virginia – West Virginia had several standout players in today’s 56-10 victory over Eastern Kentucky.
Quarterback Jarret Doege threw for 228 yards on 19/25 and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. Running back Alec Sinkfield had 123 yards on 14 carries (8.2 yards per carry). Wide receiver Sam James had 5 receptions for 72 yards and 1 touchdown. However, junior running back Leddie Brown was on a different level today’s opener.
Brown, who won the starting job at running back in the offseason, finished with 123 yards rushing on 10 carries(12.3 yards per rush) and 2 touchdowns, as well as one 15-yard touchdown reception in the first half.
