Prayers for the Family of Rich Rodriguez

Morgantown, West Virginia – Rhett Rodriguez, the son of former West Virginia head coach and current offensive coordinator at the University of Louisiana-Monroe Rich Rodriguez, is in the intensive care unit at the hospital after suffering an injury during yesterday’s game against Troy.

Rich Rodriguez said the following on his personal social media account moments ago: “Our family would like to thank everyone who has reached out with their thoughts and prayers for Rhett, as he is currently in the ICU at the hospital because of a lung injury from last night’s game at Troy.”

Rhett Rodriguez, who is the starting quarterback for ULM, suffered a hard hit from a Troy defender during the game.  Rodriguez finished the game 10/16 for 131 yards, 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions before being replaced following the injury.

ULM, who went winless last season, went on to beat Troy 29-16 to move to 2-1 on the season.  Prayers for the entire Rodriguez family and for a quick recovery for Rhett.
