Today, the WVU Men’s Basketball team officially announced their 2020-21 Big 12 Conference schedule. The Mountaineers are expected to be one of the best teams in the league this season, and we are here to give you our predictions for how the squad will fair against this schedule.

Here are our game-by-game predictions for the Men’s Basketball team in Big 12 play:

December 18th, vs Iowa State: WIN

The Cyclones will be better, but no way the Mountaineers drop this game at home. I expect the Mountaineers to run away with this one behind a huge game from Oscar Tshiebwe. West Virginia starts 1-0 in league play.

December 22nd, at Kansas: LOSS

As always, expect the officials to get involved in the outcome of this game. The Mountaineers lead throughout much of the first half, but the talented Jayhawks pull away in the second half. West Virginia is still winless in the Phog.

January 2nd, at Oklahoma: WIN

This one will be tricky, but West Virginia takes this one narrowly. The Sooners always play the Mountaineers tough in Norman, and will have them on the ropes in the second half before Deuce McBride hits a go-ahead three-pointer.

January 4th: at Oklahoma State: WIN

This Cowboys team lost a lot from their 18-14 squad last season. West Virginia is the far better team, and will win this by double-digits in Stillwater.

January 9th, vs Texas: WIN

Texas will be improved, but I’m taking WVU in Morgantown. Expect this one to be a lot more fun than the blowout at the Coliseum last season, but it will end in the same result.

January 12th, at Baylor: LOSS

The Bears will be really good again this season, and I just can’t see West Virginia winning this one. It’ll be a long day in Waco for the Mountaineers.

January 16th, vs TCU: WIN

The Horned Frogs will be one of, if not the worst team in the Big 12 this season. Easy win at home for WVU.

January 19th, vs Oklahoma State: WIN

Similar results as in Stillwater, WVU wins comfortably.

January 25th, at Kansas State: WIN

Again, this will be a tricky road trip. West Virginia will win, but they will have to sweat this one out.

January 25th, vs Texas Tech: WIN

The Red Raiders lost a lot off of their squad from last season. West Virginia wins an exciting one in Morgantown.

February 2nd, at Iowa State: LOSS

The Mountaineers get upset here. Ames is always a tricky place to play, and I feel like this will be West Virginia’s first bad loss on the season.

February 6th, vs Kansas: WIN

West Virginia follows up their worst loss with their best win. Morgantown remains a thorn in the side of the Jayhawks.

February 9th, at Texas Tech: LOSS

West Virginia loses again on the road. It’s close until the bitter end, but the Red Raiders will make just one more play.

February 13th, vs Oklahoma: WIN

WVU sweeps the Sooners in a dominating win this go around.

February 15th, vs Baylor: LOSS

The Mountaineers drop their first game in Morgantown for the season, and get swept by the Bears in the process.

February 20th, at Texas: WIN

This one could go either way, but give me the Mountaineers by one point.

February 22nd, at TCU: WIN

Again, this one isn’t even close. Mountaineers in a blowout.

February 27th, vs Kansas State: WIN

This one will be a little too close for comfort, but West Virginia wins their last one in Morgantown for the season.

WVU’s Final Big 12 record: (13-5)
