REPORT: Edwards to West Virginia Could Happen Quick

Morgantown, West Virginia – Jesse Edwards, one of the most highly-coveted players available in the transfer portal, is in Morgantown now, meeting with players, coaches and visiting the basketball facilities.

But from what we’re hearing, this visit is merely a formality and Edwards was already essentially committed to playing for the Mountaineers before even arriving in West Virginia.

According to Eric Bossi, the National Basketball Director, the recruitment process will likely go very fast and Edwards is nearly a lock to commit while in Morgantown this weekend. Bossi had the following to say about Edwards: “He’s big, he’s fluid, he protects the rim and he finishes lobs after sprinting the court. He’s also not likely to last very long int he portal.”

Bossi went on to say, “Edwards is already down to a final three of Gonzaga, Kansas and West Virginia. He’s visiting Bob Huggins and the Mountaineers this weekend and word from sources is that Huggins has his program in really good shape. In fact, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Edwards commits to West Virginia sooner rather than later.”

In other words, we are officially on Jesse Edwards Commitment Watch! In addition to Edwards, the Mountaineers are scheduled to host Iowa State guard Caleb Grill, who will arrive in Morgantown on Sunday, and Pitt’s John Hugley next weekend.
