Morgantown, West Virginia – Longtime head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks, Bill Self, will reportedly not coach his team today against the West Virginia Mountaineers in the second round of the Big 12 Championships.

According to early reports, Self, 60, is in the ICU this morning and has apparently suffered a heart attack. Self is a 6-time Big 12 Coach of the Year and a two-time AP National Coach of the Year, and has won 2 national championships with the Jayhawks.

Self is a close friend with Bob Huggins so there’s no word yet on how this will affect today’s game, but keep Self and his family in your prayers!

UPDATE:

It’s now being reported that Self is recovering from an “illness.” It’s unclear whether he suffered a heart attack or not.
