Legendary Georgetown Head Coach John Thompson has passed away at the age of 78.
Thompson was the first African American coach to win an NCAA Championship in college basketball when the Hoyas won the national championship in 1984.
Thompson, who was known for wearing a white towel over his shoulder during games, had many great games in the Coliseum against the Mountaineers in the old Big East Conference.
