MORGANTOWN, West Virginia — West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez may have just pulled the ultimate preseason blunder.
During a press conference earlier today, Rodriguez appeared to accidentally reveal the Mountaineers’ starting lineup for the 2025 season opener against Robert Morris.

Although we are still three weeks away from kickoff and anything can certainly change, Rodriguez did hold up his current depth chart during his press conference today, and if you zoom in, you can clearly see who the starters and backups are.
Right now, it appears that redshirt junior Nicco Marchiol is at the top of the depth chart with Texas A&M transfer Jaylen Henderson as his backup. Charlotte transfer Max Brown is listed as the team’s third string quarterback, with freshman Scottie Fox and Khalil Wilkins listed as the 4th and 5th team quarterbacks at this time.
Jahiem White is currently at the top of the running back depth chart with Diore Hubbard as the team’s #2 running back at this time. Cam Vaughn (X), Rodney Gallagher (Y) and Jaden Bray (Z) are listed as the team’s starting wide receivers.
The Mountaineers open their season Saturday, August 30th at Milan Puskar Stadium, where the now-public starting lineup will take the field.
