Former WVU head coach Rich Rodriguez has had himself a 2022, folks.

In his first season at Jacksonville State (FCS), Rodriguez’s Gamecocks finished with a 9-2 overall record. This comes after his team claimed victory today over Central Arkansas, 40-17. They even won the ASUN Conference Championship after being picked 4th in the preseason polls.

It took Rodriguez only one season to turn Jacksonville State around. The program finished with a 5-6 record in 2021. As we have seen in his time in Morgantown, he has the ability to turn a program into a winner. Rodriguez can win, and win quickly.

This is why many fans are pleading for his return to WVU. The Mountaineers are down right now, and they need a coach that can come in and fix things in a hurry. If anyone could do it, possibly Rodriguez could.

His quick achievements at Jacksonville State will certainly help his chances at a return to the Mountaineers.
