Jacksonville, Alabama – Moments ago, former West Virginia head coach and native son, Rich Rodriguez, was introduced as the new head coach at Jacksonville State University.
Rodriguez will replace former coach John Grass, who finished this season 5-6. Jacksonville State wanted a big-name head coach to lead their football program as it transitions into Conference USA in 2023 and they landed Rodriguez, who has 163 wins and extensive head coaching experience.
Rodriguez said the following today as he was announced as the new head coach: “I’m so honored and humbled to be your next football coach. I think it’s a great time to be here.”
