Rick Pitino, the former Kentucky and Louisville Head Coach, recently agreed to become the new basketball coach at Iona.
Pitino, who was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013, congratulated former Oklahoma State Head Coach Eddie Sutton on being inducted into the HOF.
Pitino’s Twitter message went to say, “Guys that should have already been in: Bob Huggins, one of the best of all time. Billy Donovan, back to back national championships, and 2 time national champion Jay Wright.”
Huggins, who passed the great Dean Smith for 6th all time in wins this season, was nominated for the Hall of Fame this year but was once again not inducted.
