Morgantown, West Virginia – Moments ago, it was announced that former West Virginia Mountaineer Sagaba Konate, the team’s all-time leader in blocked shots, has signed a contract to play professionally in Spain.

Konate, who averaged 8.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game in college for the Mountaineers, most recently played for the Raptors 905 in the NBA G League.

During his junior year at WVU, Konate broke the WVU all-time record for blocked shots with 191, but spent most of his senior season sidelined due to a knee injury.  After the 2018-2019 season, Konate declared for the 2019 NBA Draft.

On behalf of Mountaineer Nation, we wish Sags the best of luck in Europe.  Once a Mountaineer, Always a Mountaineer.
