Senior Defensive Lineman Could Return Next Season

Morgantown, West Virginia – Before today, it was assumed that senior defensive lineman Dante Stills would leave West Virginia University following the Guaranteed Rate Bowl and enter the 2022 NFL Draft.

However, Stills was asked today about a possible return to play for the Mountaineers next season and it sounds like he’s keeping a very open mind about coming back to Morgantown.

“If I do decide to come back…I’ve got to figure that out and I’m still thinking,” Stills said. “It would be personal. Like, in my career I’ve done some damage, but if it wasn’t good enough, I’ve got to step it up.

It will be very personal if I do come back. Like I said, I wouldn’t care, that’s an extra offseason next year, more weight room opportunities to get stronger, faster, and so I’m taking it day by day, and I will weigh it out after this game. This is a big game so I’m focused up for sure.”

Stills, a 6’4 280 pound native of Fairmont, West Virginia, had 32 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 6 sacks and 1 interception for the Mountaineers this season while being named a First Team All Big 12 selection. Stills’ potential return would be huge for the West Virginia defense next season!
